After the summer break, ChemPubSoc Europe welcomes you back to the workbench. We hope you had a regenerating vacation and for those of you who visited conferences, exhilarating discussions and exciting new ideas for your research. The societies of ChemPubSoc Europe also met to confer on their publishing program during June and in this newsletter we wish to inform you about this meeting, introduce you to one of the societies and to new developments in one of the journals, and to report on ChemPubSoc Europe and new awards and prizewinners.



  Nobel Prize in Chemistry 2014

We congratulate the Nobel Laureates in Chemistry Eric Betzig, Stefan W. Hell and William E. Moerner and offer their recent papers in ChemPubSoc Europe Journals free for a limited period. ChemPubSoc Europe and Editor Greta Heydenrych are proud that their journal ChemPhysChem has benefitted from the advice of such prestigious scientists as William E. Moerner and Stefan W. Hell, who joined the Editorial Advisory Board eleven years and four years ago, respectively. Read more.


  European Journal of Organic Chemistry Lecture Award presented at ORCHEM 2014

Professor Helma Wennemers, member of the Gesellschaft Deutscher Chemiker (GDCh, German Chemical Society) and the Swiss Chemical Society, is the recipient of the 2014 EurJOC lecture award. The lecture titled "Bioinspired Chemistry with Peptides" was recently delivered at the ORCHEM meeting in Weimar. Read more about this fascinating lecture.



 
Czech Chemical Society Profile

ChemPubSoc Europe is the publishing arm of 16 European chemical societies. Read more about one of the members of this consortium of societies which belongs amongst the oldest chemistry societies in the world.


  Free to Publish with ChemistryOpen

Who pays? Some funders require that the research they fund should be free for any interested reader. To celebrate the first Impact Factor of 2.938, the articles in ChemistryOpen, a dedicated open-access journal, are now free to publish for a limited period.   Call for Nominations !!

ChemPubSoc Europe societies are to award an international prize through EurJIC for the second time. The Wöhler-Vereinigung of the Gesellschaft Deutscher Chemiker (GDCh, German Chemical Society) together with the ChemPubSoc Europe journal European Journal of Inorganic Chemistry (EurJIC) will honor a young investigator in the field of Inorganic Chemistry.
